Role Responsibilities

The Lead Exterior Aircraft Cleaner is tasked with overseeing and guiding a team of exterior aircraft cleaning personnel, ensuring that aircraft exteriors are cleaned to the highest standards efficiently. This role includes organizing and assigning cleaning duties, training new staff, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational protocols. The lead will also perform inspections to confirm that cleaning benchmarks are achieved and maintain documentation of cleaning schedules and activities. Furthermore, you will serve as a vital liaison between the cleaning crew and other airport departments, coordinating efforts to enhance aircraft turnaround times while prioritizing detail and safety.

WORKING AS AN EXTERIOR AIRCRAFT CLEANER LEAD

  • Collaborate with your team towards shared objectives
  • Supervise and manage the activities of the exterior aircraft cleaning crew
  • Train new employees on effective aircraft cleaning methods and safety protocols
  • Conduct inspections of aircraft pre- and post-cleaning to ensure quality standards are upheld
  • Efficiently allocate staff and resources to manage multiple cleaning tasks
  • Oversee the use of cleaning agents and equipment, ensuring adherence to safety and environmental guidelines
  • Maintain a regular cleaning schedule and accommodate special requests from airlines
  • Communicate effectively with ground crew, maintenance personnel, and management
  • Implement and uphold safety measures for working at heights and in proximity to aircraft
  • Exhibit strong attention to detail
  • Enjoy working collaboratively or independently to achieve objectives
  • Possess several years of management or supervisory experience
  • Foster long-term relationships with clients
  • Physical requirements may include:
    • Standing and walking for extended durations
    • Lifting weights of 70 pounds or more
    • Ability to hear and respond to verbal communication and audible alarms in a terminal setting
    • Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors); Peripheral Vision (ability to observe an area while focusing on a specific point); Depth Perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); Ability to Adjust Focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum age of 18 years
  • Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English, including comprehension of documents
  • At least 1 year of customer service experience
  • Minimum of 1 year in cleaning or maintenance roles
  • Familiarity with the aviation sector
  • Comfortable using computers, mobile devices, and tablets
  • Ability to pass a drug screening
  • Eligibility to obtain necessary credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs, and U.S. Postal, as applicable)
