Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our team at WellMed, part of the Optum family of businesses. As an LVN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical support functions and professional nursing care to patients using established standards of clinical nursing care and procedures.
  • Assess patients' needs, provide input into the plan of care, and implement prescribed interventions.
  • Perform all nursing duties within the scope of a Licensed Vocational/Practical Nurse, including procedures, injections, medication administration, EKGs, and phlebotomy.
  • Participate in implementing established education plans for patients and their families with common health problems and well-defined health learning needs.
  • Coordinate patient care as directed by providers, RNs, and policies, including referrals, transition visits, medications, procedures, and follow-up.
Requirements:
  • Current and unrestricted State Vocational/Practical Nursing license.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Ability to obtain IV certification if required by the clinic.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and medical office procedures.
  • Proficient computer skills to work efficiently with electronic medical records.
  • Proven effective listening and communication skills; proper use of grammar and spelling.
  • Proven ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • IV certification.
  • 2+ years of experience in a medical setting.
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
Physical & Mental Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to properly drive and operate a company vehicle.
