Job Title: Navy Diesel Engine Inspector

Amentum is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Navy Diesel Engine Inspector to join our team. As a Navy Diesel Engine Inspector, you will be responsible for conducting condition-based maintenance assessments of diesel engines, providing technical assistance, and assisting ship's force in troubleshooting and repair.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct condition-based maintenance assessments of diesel engines to identify potential issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to ship's force in troubleshooting and repair of diesel engines.
  • Assist in the identification of parts and materials needed to return equipment to manufacturer specifications.
  • Conduct oversight of repairs being conducted to engines/equipment for technical completion and standards onboard ships or shipyards.
  • Provide on-the-job training to ship's force during the assessment/repairs of equipment.
Requirements:
  • 10 years of experience in the operation, repair, maintenance, and assessment of U.S. Navy diesel engines.
  • Must have recent (within 24 months) hands-on experience with the respective equipment to support.
  • Must be knowledgeable in engine performance analysis, repairs, machinery vibration, and failure analysis.
  • Must have a current certification as a U.S. Navy fleet DEI, hold Navy Enlisted Classification (NEC) 4314, and have a desired minimum of 4 years of experience as a certified DEI in accordance with OPNAVIST.
  • Must have familiarity or Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Service either through experience and/or equivalent OEM Factory/Navy training certificates/NEC.
  • Must have an active secret US government clearance. Note: US citizenship is required to maintain a secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience supporting the Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC).
