Position Summary
Oversee and lead the service team to deliver an exceptional dining experience. Take full responsibility for the restaurant's operations, ensuring that every shift runs smoothly, efficiently, and profitably. Embody gracious hospitality and respect in all interactions. This position reports directly to the General Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Service Leadership

  • Establish, mentor, and consistently uphold service standards.
  • Enhance service quality by being present during peak dining hours.
  • Gain the trust of the team by ensuring seamless shift operations.
  • Exhibit professionalism and exceptional hospitality, especially in challenging situations.
  • Ensure adherence to service protocols through tools like guest feedback and performance evaluations.

Team Development

  • Build strong relationships with team members through a solid work ethic and support.
  • Clearly articulate expectations and hold team members accountable.
  • Provide timely feedback, both positive and constructive, and document as necessary.
  • Actively seek out and recruit top talent.
  • Extend the same hospitality and respect to potential hires as to current employees and guests.
  • Implement training programs consistently for all staff.
  • Proactively pursue personal and professional development opportunities.

Cultural Ambassador

  • Communicate the vision of José Andrés Group to team members, guests, and the community positively.
  • Lead by example in all aspects of the role.

Operational Management

  • Understand, implement, and teach company policies and procedures.
  • Report any significant operational issues to the General Manager immediately.
  • Maintain a detailed log to facilitate communication between shifts and prevent recurring issues. Regularly hold team meetings.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Comply with all health standards and legal regulations.
  • Address any violations promptly.

Financial Oversight

  • Understand and execute restaurant plans to adhere to budgets and maximize profitability. Manage inventory and minimize waste effectively.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in cash handling and financial management.
  • Ensure accuracy in financial records, including cash outs and deposits.
  • Manage labor costs, scheduling, and payroll efficiently.
  • Utilize tools such as inventory management systems and point-of-sale technology.
  • Seek guidance from the General Manager for additional support and training as needed.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2+ years in restaurant management and 5+ years in the restaurant industry.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to work independently or as a team leader.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Extensive knowledge of fine dining service and sales techniques.
  • Ability to supervise, train, and motivate employees at various levels.
  • Skilled in evaluating employee performance fairly and consistently.
  • In-depth understanding of the food industry and competitive landscape.
  • Experience in revenue management and operational goal setting.
Working Conditions
  • This role requires standing or walking for extended periods.
  • Must be able to maintain mobility for up to 8 hours.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 30 lbs.
  • Requires a range of physical activities including bending, climbing, and manual dexterity.
  • Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
