Position Overview:
Bizzell Group is seeking an experienced Sustainability and Energy Efficiency Manager. This role will lead initiatives to improve energy efficiency, minimize energy consumption, and promote sustainable practices across various facilities. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in energy management, project coordination, and teamwork with diverse groups.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and execute energy conservation strategies tailored to operational needs and objectives.
- Analyze energy usage data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
- Conduct comprehensive energy audits and assessments to pinpoint energy-saving possibilities and recommend actionable solutions.
- Collaborate with engineering, facilities, and operations teams to implement energy-efficient technologies.
- Coordinate with architects, clients, and consultants to integrate energy conservation measures into project designs.
- Develop and maintain detailed energy management plans, including goals and performance metrics.
- Prepare and present reports on energy performance and project outcomes to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with relevant energy regulations and best practices.
- Educate staff on energy conservation practices and the significance of energy efficiency.
- Stay updated on industry trends and technologies in energy management and sustainability.
Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of energy management principles and technologies, particularly in high-tech environments.
- Experience in conducting energy audits and performance evaluations in similar facilities.
- Proficiency in data analysis and energy monitoring tools.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
- Familiarity with energy regulations and standards applicable to research institutions.
- Experience with energy management software used in research settings.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Energy Management, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Professional Engineer (Electrical PE) license in California.
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or similar certification is highly desirable.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- LEED Green Associate certification.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in energy management or sustainability.
Physical Requirements:
This position may require prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer.
