Position Overview
In this role, you will collaborate with Northern Trust's Technology Risk and Control team to conduct assessments of risks and controls across various technology domains. You will oversee the implementation of technology controls in alignment with company policies and standards. Your collaboration with global IT partners will involve advising on control design and evaluating control maturity and gaps. Additionally, you will work alongside compliance and audit teams to manage technology control-related issues, ensuring proper resolution, escalation, and reporting.
You will be an integral part of a dedicated team focused on enhancing control awareness and effectively managing risks within the global IT organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in executing global Information Technology control assurance activities to facilitate comprehensive risk and controls assessments, including reviewing the work conducted by third-party contractors.
- Conduct control testing and risk assessments for various technology areas, including critical financial transaction systems and their supporting infrastructure.
- Support Control Officers in managing executive reporting, tracking issues, and ensuring resolution while measuring risk appetite.
- Influence organizational behaviors to mitigate risk and cultivate a robust technology risk management culture throughout the enterprise.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Proficient presentation skills, including the ability to create impactful PowerPoint presentations for executive management.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Experience in developing IT risk and control matrices.
- Extensive background in Risks and Controls Self-Assessment and Controls testing.
- Proven experience in executing projects involving inherent risk assessment, controls assessment, and residual risk assessment.
- Significant experience in controls testing across various technology domains such as Cloud Management, Identity and Access Management, Vendor Risk Management, IT Governance, IT Strategy, Information Security Operations, Change Management, and IT Asset Management.
- Solid understanding of various technology standards and frameworks, including NIST, ISO, and FFIEC.
- In-depth knowledge of information security principles, risk assessments, and security risk management.
- Strong collaboration and relationship management skills, particularly with executive management.
