Crisis Support Specialist

Role Summary:
This role, under the guidance of the Hotline Supervisor, entails managing a 24-hour crisis hotline and supervising shelter and transitional housing facilities. The Crisis Support Specialist engages in both telephonic and face-to-face assessments for individuals experiencing domestic violence who are in need of shelter, while also providing support to clients residing in the shelter. Furthermore, collaboration with Emergency Shelter personnel is essential to ensure that services are delivered in accordance with trauma-informed practices and voluntary protocols.
Work Schedule:
Thursday: 10 AM - 6:30 PM
Friday and Saturday: 6:30 AM - 3 PM
Sunday and Monday: 2:30 PM - 11 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise hotline operations and emergency shelter functions during designated shifts
- Respond to hotline inquiries and deliver crisis intervention and resource referrals
- Conduct assessments and intakes via telephone and at the emergency shelter
- Provide individualized crisis support and intervention as necessary
- Assist clients with daily living activities and conduct routine checks
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of college coursework in a human services discipline or equivalent professional experience
- Preferred: Associate or Bachelor's degree
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is mandatory
- Familiarity with crisis intervention strategies, trauma-informed care, and support methodologies
