About the Opportunity

The Mechanical Equipment Specialist will be a member of our Engineering Department, responsible for the maintenance and operation of mechanical and hydraulic equipment. This includes inspecting, maintaining, and repairing equipment, as well as lubricating moving parts.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Adhere to company policies and USCG and environmental regulations
  2. Work a rotation watch that could involve 8 or 12 hours in a 24-hour period with occasional hours not to exceed 14 consecutive hours
  3. Handle lines for the mooring of the vessel
  4. Overhaul lifeboats and lifeboat gear and lower or raise lifeboats with winch or falls as directed
  5. Participate in safety and rescue drills for emergency situations
  6. Provide and/or assist with training
  7. Assemble rigging to lift and move equipment or material on board the vessel
  8. Perform any duty that may be required as part of training
  9. Ensure the cleanliness of the engine room, bilges, rudder room, and void spaces
  10. Collect, dump, and clean garbage, emptying color-coded receptacles for segregated garbage to the appropriate storage or processing location
Requirements & Qualifications
  1. Valid Merchant Mariners Credential (MMC)
  2. Valid Passport
  3. Valid USCG Medical Certificate
  4. QMED Endorsement
  5. Valid TWIC Card
  6. Ability to pass a physical exam
  7. Ability to pass a written exam
Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $65,000 - $80,000, depending on experience. Additional benefits include health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
