Market Sales Manager, Government Plans

About the Role:
We're seeking a skilled Market Sales Manager to join our team at UnitedHealth Group. This role is focused on driving sales growth and market penetration for our Medicare business. As a Market Sales Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, building and maintaining relationships with agents and agencies, and analyzing sales data to inform business decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and Execute Sales Strategies:
Develop and implement sales plans to achieve business objectives and drive growth. Identify opportunities to improve sales performance and develop strategies to address any challenges.
Build and Maintain Relationships:
Build and maintain strong relationships with agents, agencies, and other stakeholders to drive sales growth and market penetration. Collaborate with internal teams to develop and execute business plans.
Analyze Sales Data:
Collect and analyze sales data to inform business decisions and identify opportunities for growth. Use data to drive sales strategies and measure the effectiveness of sales efforts.
Lead and Develop Sales Teams:
Lead and develop high-performing sales teams to drive sales growth and market penetration. Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities to help team members achieve their goals.
Requirements:
State Life/Health Insurance License:
A state life/health insurance license is required for this position. If you do not already have one, you must be willing to obtain a (company-sponsored) state health/life insurance license within 60 days of hire.
Sales Experience:
Sales, territory management, business development, or related experience is required. Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) is also required.
Technology Resources:
Proficient with technology resources (computers/mobile devices, Internet, social media platforms & networks, software applications, virtual presence, etc.)
Travel:
Travel up to 50% of the time within this Houston, TX market area is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Active State Health Insurance License:
An active state health insurance license is preferred.
Leadership Experience:
Experience managing/leading a team is preferred.
Sales Team Leadership:
Experience managing/leading a sales team is preferred.
Demonstrated Skills:
Self-Starter:
A self-starter who can work with minimal guidance, seeking guidance on most complex tasks.
Project Management:
Proven project management and leadership skills.
Communication:
Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
