MCC is currently in search of a Refrigeration Systems Mechanic to service and repair refrigeration systems in commercial and industrial settings. This role entails executing planned service inspections, conducting repair services, installing equipment, and providing emergency service response in accordance with company and customer safety protocols. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team member with strong problem-solving abilities and a minimum of three years of experience in refrigeration mechanics, including installation and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

To excel in this position, candidates must effectively perform the following essential duties:

  1. Diagnose, maintain, adjust, repair, replace, and start up refrigeration systems and components promptly to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
  2. Locate and repair refrigerant leaks in both rack and stand-alone systems.
  3. Understand electrical wiring schematics and work with all electrical components from disconnect to equipment.
  4. Discuss refrigeration system issues with users to identify problems or confirm that repairs have resolved malfunctions.
  5. Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and United Association requirements during all service activities.
  6. Maintain accurate records of labor hours, service descriptions, and materials on service work order forms.
  7. Provide excellent customer service and maintain organization on job sites.
  8. Offer insights regarding service trends, cost-saving opportunities, and customer concerns.
  9. Operate heavy machinery and equipment as necessary.
  10. Work safely with hazardous materials, at heights, and in confined spaces.
  11. Drive to various job sites during working hours, maintaining a valid driver's license and a driving record that complies with company policy.
  12. Maintain a constant state of alertness and adhere to safety protocols.
  13. Exhibit regular attendance and punctuality as essential to job performance.
  14. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Environmental and Physical Requirements

  • Exposure to diverse indoor and outdoor conditions, loud noises, dust, toxic substances, and uneven surfaces.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Capability to perform manual tasks including standing, walking, bending, climbing, and lifting.
  • Ability to lift weights ranging from 1 to 100 lbs.
  • Must demonstrate adaptability to changing demands and priorities.
  • Position subject to ergonomic testing.

Safety Considerations

This role is classified as safety-sensitive due to responsibilities involving vehicle operation, heavy equipment maintenance, and handling hazardous materials.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Universal certification for refrigerant recovery and reclamation per EPA regulations.
  • Knowledge of AC/DC electrical refrigeration and HVAC components.
  • Understanding of both large and small refrigeration systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and manuals.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to work overtime and non-standard hours as needed.
  • A valid driver's license is mandatory.
