Position Overview:

In this role, you will oversee the technical development of software engineering teams within a Discover application development sector, leveraging your expertise to translate vision into actionable results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, retain, and lead a diverse team of engineering professionals, setting clear objectives and key results. Develop standardized practices across the team and drive the resolution of complex challenges. This includes managing all aspects of performance, including providing constructive feedback and conducting evaluations.
  • Mentor engineers in both technical and interpersonal skills, cultivating a team of competent, thoughtful, and customer-focused technology experts. Ensure adherence to engineering excellence principles within their technical domain, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Shape the technical vision within your domain and actively participate in the leadership team, influencing the architectural direction across the organization while ensuring compliance with all regulatory and audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to effectively allocate team members to product teams, aligning with business and product objectives.
  • Engage with internal and external communities to share insights, contribute knowledge, and advocate for the Discover Technology brand. Encourage innovation and collaboration across teams.
  • Contribute as an engineer within a product team, designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality technology solutions, while also developing your own subject matter expertise.

Minimum Qualifications:

To be considered, you should possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Technology, Business, or a related field.
  • Over 8 years of experience in Application Development or a related area.
  • Alternatively, 6+ years of experience in Application Development or a related field in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

We would also value:

  • At least 2 years of experience in a leadership role.
  • A strong technical background in back-end APIs, Java Spring Boot, OCP, and CI/CD.
  • Experience in mobile development.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
