Position Overview
The Traveling Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing construction projects from inception to completion. Key responsibilities include:
- Participating in post-award review meetings to gather essential project details for effective preplanning.
- Ensuring sufficient manpower is allocated to meet construction timelines.
- Assessing equipment needs and managing resources to optimize efficiency.
- Conducting material and quantity assessments for each project phase.
- Managing the overall construction process to adhere to specifications and timelines while achieving profitability.
- Supervising craft superintendents and foremen to ensure quality work.
- Communicating efficient construction techniques to enhance project quality and productivity.
- Supporting project managers and engineers in various tasks, including material procurement and change order management.
- Coordinating subcontractor activities to align with project schedules.
- Keeping all parties informed of any changes to the construction schedule.
- Reviewing change order requests with project managers to ensure proper documentation and cost management.
- Assisting in the preparation of job progress and cost reports.
- Approving requisitions, purchase orders, and significant project documents.
- Maintaining open communication with owners and their representatives regarding project status.
- Collaborating with architects and owner representatives to foster positive relationships.
- Regularly updating project managers on job progress and potential issues.
- Enforcing adherence to the company's safety protocols throughout the project lifecycle.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Superintendent, with a focus on ground-up projects.
- A willingness to travel across the Midwest.
- Strong decision-making abilities under tight deadlines.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage people, tools, and equipment effectively.
- Proven leadership capabilities with a proactive approach to challenges and conflict resolution.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and project scheduling software.
The position offers a competitive salary ranging from $110,000 to $130,000, based on experience, along with:
- Performance-based bonus eligibility.
- Weekly per diem.
- Paid holidays and three weeks of PTO.
- Comprehensive insurance package, including health, vision, and dental coverage.

- Company-provided vehicle, cellphone, and laptop.
