Position Overview

The Traveling Superintendent will play a crucial role in overseeing construction projects from inception to completion. Key responsibilities include:
  • Participating in post-award review meetings to gather essential project details for effective preplanning.
  • Ensuring adequate manpower is allocated to meet project timelines.
  • Assessing equipment needs and managing resources to optimize productivity.
  • Conducting material and quantity estimates for each construction phase.
  • Leading the overall construction process to adhere to specifications and timelines while achieving profitability.
  • Supervising craft superintendents and foremen to ensure quality execution of tasks.
  • Communicating efficient construction techniques to team members to maintain high standards.
  • Assisting project managers and engineers with material shipments, approvals, and change orders.
  • Coordinating subcontractor activities to align with project schedules.
  • Updating all stakeholders on any changes to the construction schedule.
  • Reviewing change order requests with project managers to ensure accurate documentation and cost assessments.
  • Preparing job progress and cost reports to reflect actual expenditures.
  • Approving requisitions, purchase orders, and significant project documents.
  • Maintaining open communication with owners and their representatives regarding project status.
  • Collaborating with architects and owner representatives to ensure project success.
  • Regularly reporting to project managers on progress, plans, and potential issues affecting costs or timelines.
  • Enforcing adherence to the company's safety protocols throughout all project phases.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Superintendent, specifically with ground-up projects.
  • A willingness to travel across the Midwest.
  • Strong decision-making skills under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational abilities to manage personnel, tools, and equipment effectively.
  • Proven leadership capabilities to navigate challenges and resolve conflicts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and project scheduling software.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive compensation package, including:
  • Base salary ranging from $110,000 to $130,000, commensurate with experience.
