Job Title: Director of Development, Corporations

Job Summary:

The Brookings Institution is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Development, Corporations to join our Economic Studies program. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with corporate donors, identifying new funding opportunities, and developing strategic plans to achieve our fundraising goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to identify, qualify, cultivate, steward, and solicit corporate donors
  • Manage a portfolio of 30-50 current and prospective corporate funders, including customized outreach, event invitations, and special projects
  • Collaborate with scholars, program staff, and other development team members to identify new funding opportunities and develop strategic plans to achieve our fundraising goals
  • Prepare and present proposals, reports, and other materials to corporate donors and prospects
  • Track and analyze fundraising data, including renewals, upgrades, new prospects, and program requests from corporations

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and minimum of eight years of professional and/or related experience required
  • Excellent communication, organization, database, and spreadsheet skills, including the ability to enter and manipulate data
  • Interest in public policy, economics, and finance; demonstrated experience successfully raising gifts of $50,000+ in a non-profit environment
  • Experience working successfully with top-level executives in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Able to work as a leader or in support role as needed to secure and steward major funding relationships
