Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct mammography imaging procedures in accordance with departmental standards and protocols.
- Comply with the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, ensuring adherence to all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulatory standards.
- Exhibit expertise in minimizing patient exposure during imaging procedures.
- Evaluate patient needs, exercising care, discretion, and judgment, always acting in the best interest of the patient.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to gather essential information for diagnosis and treatment management.
- Ensure accurate outpatient coding by assigning appropriate ICD-10-CM and/or CPT-4 codes for mammography procedures.
- Thoroughly review medical records and utilize all available documentation to effectively code diagnoses and procedures.
- Address coding challenges and resolve ADT edits, physician queries, and missing documentation.
- Follow industry resources and guidelines to accurately select appropriate diagnoses and procedures.
- Maintain productivity and quality standards for each mammography procedure.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited Ultrasound program or a two-year college-based training program with clinical education in an accredited healthcare environment. A Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field is preferred.
- 2-3 years of experience in mammography imaging is preferred.
- Certification in Mammography (ARRT-M) and CPR certification are required.
- Strong technical proficiency and competency in mammography scanning techniques.
- Active membership in professional associations related to sonography and mammography.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
