Radiologic Technologist

Job Summary
As a Mammographer at Rush University, you will be responsible for producing high-quality breast images for interpretation in an efficient and cost-effective manner. You will demonstrate confidence and compassion when interacting with patients and appropriately answer their questions. You will exemplify the Rush mission, vision, and values and act in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Provide quality patient care as defined by departmental and age-specific standards of care.
Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
Follow departmental protocols and procedures in the performance of exams and produce images that meet quality standards.
Produce work in an efficient manner that meets departmental productivity standards.
Maintain the physical work environment in a manner that meets departmental and regulatory requirements.
Have a working knowledge of the Radiology Information Systems, EPIC, and PACS (Candelis).
Report supply shortages or equipment failures to operations manager and/or team leader.
Follow work and patient schedules.
Assist Radiologist in the performance of interventional breast procedures.
Maintain logs and documentation as per departmental protocol.
Provide detailed patient history and/or other pertinent information necessary for proper interpretation of image.
Maintain licensure/registry status as determined by state or regulatory bodies.
Participate in the training and development of students assigned to the area through clinical affiliations.
Maintain a screening technical repeat average of 1% or lower.
Assist the technical aides and/or radiologists by informing patients and referring physicians of patient appointment delays.
Assist in room preparedness, i.e., cleaning rooms and supply placement, to include ultrasound rooms.
Maintain department standards for time and attendance.
Requirements
Formal training in an accredited Radiologic Technology Program.
Valid Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety license.
Registry or Registry-eligible with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
Successful completion of 40-hour mammography course.
Preferred Qualifications
Lead Technologist or Lead Procedure Technologist experience.
Physical Demands
Requires full body range of motion including handling and lifting patients when necessary.
Requires manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
Competencies
Registry or Registry-eligible with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
