Job Summary

This is an entry-level position that performs repetitive assembly operations to mass-produce products such as windows and doors. The successful candidate will be responsible for placing parts in specified relationships, bolting, clipping, screwing, cementing, or otherwise fastening parts together. Additionally, the individual will be required to cut products to specific measurements as needed, remove defective products, and tend machines to perform force fitting or fastening operations on the assembly line.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have no prior education or experience requirements. However, prior carpentry experience is helpful. The successful candidate will be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, write simple correspondence, and effectively present information in both individual and small group situations. Additionally, the individual will be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, read a tape measure, and apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

Work Environment

The employee will be continuously required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee will also be required to walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds continuously, 50 pounds frequently, and 100 pounds occasionally. The employee will be exposed to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud, and the employee will be required to wear ear plugs for noise protection as well as eye protection and other personal protective equipment required by the location.
