Job Summary:

The Health Information Manager - Privacy Officer is responsible for managing the daily operations of the Health Information Management Department at Trios Health. This includes overseeing the selection, training, and performance evaluation of department personnel, as well as ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining confidentiality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop, and organize the HIM Department to ensure efficient and effective operations
  • Manage the daily operations of the Health Information Management Department, including monitoring medical record information and developing and maintaining job descriptions
  • Evaluate and coordinate computer accesses, equipment, supplies, and space requirements for the main Health Information Management office
  • Develop, review, and revise medical record policy and procedure to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate archiving and indexing of inactive patient records and perform privacy audits
  • Respond to Value Lines requests and approve access to Lourdes data bases/systems
  • Provide orientation and education to all associates regarding Privacy and coordinate Coding audits and education to assure compliant coding

Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree in Health Information Management with national Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification
  • Current knowledge in Health Information Management, including The Joint Commission (TJC), Department of Social Health Services (DOHS), Quality Regulatory Requirements, State and Federal regulations
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with culturally diverse population
  • Required Certification: Registered Health Information Administrator/Registered Health Information Technician or must be eligible to take exam within one (1) year of hire; Certified Coding Specialist or must be eligible to take exam within one (1) year of hire
  • Required License: Must have/obtain a current Washington State Driver's License, liability insurance to use personal vehicle and/or LHN Company vehicles for LHN business purposes

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual and/or English-Spanish speaking
  • Previous hospital health information experience
