Job Summary

As a key member of our retail team, the Bakery Lead will be responsible for leading the day-to-day activities of the bakery department in a retail store. This includes ensuring that associates are trained, the department is fully staffed, and operating at company standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing inventory, reviewing and validating received orders, and maintaining a clean and attractive department. Additionally, they will be responsible for supporting the department manager in implementing and maintaining work schedules, labor control, and payroll expense for the department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage inventory and maintain a clean and attractive department
  • Review and validate received orders
  • Support the department manager in implementing and maintaining work schedules, labor control, and payroll expense
  • Assure that all food safety guidelines and requirements are followed and maintained
  • Support the department manager in developing and implementing a plan to meet company goals and key performance indicators
Requirements
  • High School Graduate or Equivalent (GED)
  • 0-2 years of retail experience preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication, and bookkeeping skills
  • Good organization, prioritization, decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict management skills
  • Strong leadership abilities with capability to work in a hands-on environment
  • Good strategic planning and business acumen skills
  • Good knowledge of retail store operations and retail management systems
