Position Overview: Grade Crossing Project Leader

Our Railroad Division is seeking a Grade Crossing Project Leader to join our dedicated team. This role is ideal for those passionate about railroads and eager to contribute to the industry's success.

The successful candidate will excel in analysis, documentation, and reporting, manage correspondence efficiently, and provide timely updates on project progress. You will ensure tasks are completed within budget and on schedule, adhere to quality control standards, and demonstrate leadership by mentoring junior staff.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct, document, and generate reports detailing analyses and computations related to assigned projects.
  • Draft and manage correspondence concerning issues associated with assigned tasks.
  • Regularly report on work progress, budget status, and address technical issues to the Project Manager.
  • Implement quality control procedures in line with the Project Quality Management Plan.
  • Ensure timely completion of assigned tasks within the designated schedule and budget.
  • Familiarize yourself with and apply relevant design standards and codes.
  • Assist in training and supporting junior staff as needed.
  • Take on additional duties as assigned by the Project Manager.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is required.
  • Extensive experience managing railroad Grade-Crossing safety projects and traffic signal engineering is essential.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in traffic signal operations is preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of relevant software is necessary.
  • Familiarity with applicable codes and standards is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Intermediate understanding of principles and practices relevant to one or more areas of expertise.
  • Proficiency in software tools such as MicroStation, InRoads, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office products.
