New Fortress Energy is seeking a highly experienced Vice President, Risk Management, to join our team in New York. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for executing and managing our Risk Management and Insurance program. This is a unique opportunity to drive our company's risk management strategy and contribute to our mission to change the way energy and electricity are delivered around the world.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary point of contact for risk management and insurance, handling complex issues and working closely with internal stakeholders to identify and analyze exposures.
- Manage relationships with insurance brokers to stay ahead of market trends and implement risk management strategies across all insurance programs.
- Provide insurance estimates for construction and new/expanded areas of business, and work closely with the Legal, Finance, Development, and Operations teams to develop and review contracts.
- Develop and implement an annual insurance budget and business plan, and track project insurance costs.
- Serve as a liaison among stakeholders and counterparties during the negotiation of non-standard insurance-related contract terms.
- Review and analyze insurance policies to ensure compliance with contract terms and identify areas for improvement.
- Monitor compliance with insurance covenants in various agreements and contracts to prevent defaults.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in insurance, risk management, finance, law, business administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 10-15 years of experience in Risk Management and/or Insurance, preferably in a corporate or insurance brokerage setting.
- Professional designations such as CRM, CIC, ARM, or CPCU are highly desirable.
- Expert technical knowledge of insurance coverages, including property/business interruption, commercial general liability, directors' and officers' liability, and builder's risk.
- Experience with large construction contracts and related knowledge in energy infrastructure construction and vessel/marine operations.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work on multiple tasks and projects with limited supervision.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving environment.
