Job Overview:
As a Physical Therapist specializing in Lymphedema and Oncology Rehabilitation, you will play a crucial role in helping patients regain their optimal functional abilities in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct individualized evaluations and ongoing assessments tailored to the patient's condition, addressing unique needs and behaviors.
  2. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to establish time-specific treatment goals aimed at facilitating the patient's discharge to their home environment while achieving the highest level of function.
  3. Formulate and adjust treatment plans based on the goals set by the interdisciplinary team, in coordination with the physician, patient, and family.
  4. Oversee and instruct Therapy Aides in patient care activities, adhering to hospital policies and medical regulations.
  5. Ensure compliance with attendance, punctuality, and overall dependability standards, while effectively managing all assigned responsibilities within designated timeframes.
  6. Provide patient instruction on an appropriately dosed exercise program to enhance lymphatic circulation.
  7. Educate patients on developing a home program for the long-term management of lymphedema.
  8. Advise patients on skin care practices to reduce infection risks associated with lymphedema.
  9. Apply compression bandaging techniques.
  10. Perform manual lymphatic drainage.
  11. Measure and fit patients with suitable compression garments.
  12. Evaluate, treat, and differentiate diagnoses related to axillary web syndrome, postural and scapular dysfunction, and upper quadrant soft tissue changes following breast cancer surgery/reconstruction and radiation therapy.
  13. Deliver education on lymphedema and provide guidance on infection risk reduction practices.
  14. Implement exercise guidelines and programs for lymphedema prevention.
Qualifications:
Required:
  • Licensed Physical Therapist in the State of Washington.
  • Baccalaureate, Master's Degree, or certificate in Physical Therapy.
  • Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification by the date of hire.
  • Knowledge and training in addressing the special needs of patients across young adult to geriatric age groups.
Preferred:
  • Two years of experience in Lymphedema and Breast Cancer Rehabilitation.
  • Lymphedema Rehabilitation Certification from an accredited program.
  • Proficient in Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT) components.
  • Familiarity with various forms of Breast Cancer, diagnostics, treatment modalities, and side effects of treatments.
