As a key member of our team, you will provide anesthesia support for cutting-edge IR/IE procedures, troubleshoot and maintain surgical and anesthetic equipment, and work closely with our board-certified anesthesiologist.
Responsibilities- Provide anesthesia support for IR/IE procedures, working alongside our skilled technicians and anesthesiologist
- Troubleshoot, operate, and maintain surgical and anesthetic equipment and inventory
- Work closely with doctors in clinics and communicate with clients
- Assist with all aspects of patient care from admission through discharge
- Participate in research and educational projects
- NYS Veterinary Technician's license
- Advanced anesthesia skill set and ability to perform tasks associated with critical and emergent situations
- Position is ideal for technicians seeking a VTS in anesthesia and analgesia
- Candidate must be able to work successfully as part of a team and autonomously with the ability to remain composed in stressful situations
- Strong skills in phlebotomy, peripheral catheter and central line placement, anesthesia protocols, anesthesia monitoring, and post-operative care preferred
- Equivalent of 1 year training in an advanced veterinary surgery department preferred
