Licensed Veterinary Radiology Specialist

The Diagnostic Imaging Service is a critical component of the lifesaving work we do at the Schwarzman Animal Medical Center, providing timely diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment planning of diseases in companion animals. As a Diagnostic Imaging technician, you will operate our computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machines to obtain high-quality images for our radiologists and other board-certified specialists across the hospital.
Responsibilities:- Provide exceptional and compassionate care for our patients from admission through discharge
- Provide anesthesia support and patient recovery for patients of all ASA levels undergoing diagnostic imaging
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot Diagnostic Imaging modalities (CT and MRI) and anesthetic equipment
- Communicate professionally and effectively to coordinate patient workflow across multiple departments
- Ability to adhere to strict radiation and MRI safety protocols
- Participation in educational and research projects
- Must have NYS Veterinary Technician's license
- Candidates with experience in CT and MRI operation a plus, but willing to train the right candidate
- A strong skill set in phlebotomy, catheter placement, anesthesia protocols, anesthesia monitoring, and post-operative care is essential
- Candidate must be able to work successfully both as part of a team and autonomously with the ability to remain composed in stressful and emergency situations
