Job Title: Library Associate II

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Library Associate II to join our team at the City of Oceanside Public Library. As a key member of our library staff, you will provide excellent customer service to the public, assist with library operations, and support the development of library programs and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide customer service to the public, answering questions and resolving issues related to library materials and services.
  • Assist with shelving and maintaining library collections, including checking in and out materials, and performing basic processing tasks.
  • Support the development of library programs and services, including assisting with event planning and execution.
  • Operate library vehicles, including the Bookmobile, and assist with outreach efforts.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • One year of experience in a public library or a related field.
  • Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.
  • Ability to work variable hours, including evenings, Saturdays, and Sundays.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) language skills.
  • Experience working with adults, teens, or children.
  • Knowledge of library software and technology.
