The Manager of Oncology Services is a key leadership position at John Muir Health, responsible for overseeing and managing the Oncology Services Programs. Key Responsibilities:- Provide leadership and oversight to the Oncology Services Programs, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement effective oncology programs and initiatives.
- Manage and coordinate the work of Nurse Navigators, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Genetic Counselors, Cancer Registry, and support staff.
- Ensure compliance with internal standards, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures to ensure consistent compliance.
- Collaborate with leadership and staff to recommend adjustments and updates to policies and procedures.
- Bachelor's degree in a Health or Human Services Related Field - Required
- Masters degree in a Health or Human Services Related field - Preferred
- RN Registered Nursing - California Board of Nursing - Required
- BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association - Required
- 5 years of Leadership in a healthcare environment - Required
- 5 years experience in an Oncology environment - Preferred
- Supervisory experience - Required
- Program development experience - Required
- Working knowledge of Oncology Commission on Cancer requirements/standards
- Ability to work collaboratively with providers and an interdisciplinary medical and ancillary staff
- Understanding of Nurse Navigation and clinical pathways
- Experience with Cancer Registry, data analysis, and tracking trends
- Experience with Genetic Counselors and incorporating them into the Cancer Clinic and Multi-disciplinary clinics
- Ability to work in a service culture environment that is consistent with the John Muir Health brand
- Ability to gather and analyze data to look for opportunities for improvement, training, coaching, and education
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and lead and manage multiple demands in an efficient manner
- Strong interpersonal skills, able to deal effectively with diverse skill sets and personalities
- Knowledge of computer-based programs
- Ability to remain composed in any situation
This is an exempt salaried position, requiring a 40-hour workweek. Evenings and weekends may be required.
