Respiratory Therapist Level I

We are seeking a skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Atrium Health Charlotte. As a key member of our respiratory care team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and support in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Perform all aspects of direct respiratory care according to physician's orders and/or approved protocols.
- Consult with physicians on the effectiveness of therapy and make appropriate recommendations.
- Provide ventilator support and maintain and monitor other cardiopulmonary life support equipment.
- Maintain and properly utilize respiratory care equipment.
- Administer therapeutic procedures, understanding the purpose and benefits, and possible effects associated with each.
- Perform diagnostic procedures as outlined in policy.
- Initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilators and non-invasive ventilators.
- Evaluate current therapies using appropriate judgment and protocols, making proper recommendations concerning plans of care and patient education needs.
- Document therapy and results as required by hospital, department, and regulatory agencies.
- Communicate information to appropriate members of the healthcare team.
- Initiate, conduct, and modify respiratory care techniques in an emergency setting.
- Perform and evaluate blood sampling analysis with a thorough understanding of the values, and the importance and treatment of abnormal results.
- Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Respiratory Care.
- Associate's RRT or RRT Equivalent required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
- Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the state of North Carolina.
- BLS required per policy guidelines.
- Advanced certifications per facility policy/standards.
