Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider to join our team at the Private Diagnostic Clinic, PLLC | Duke Health. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in obstetrics and gynecology, with a focus on high-risk obstetrics.
Job Summary:The Advanced Practice Provider will work in collaboration with attending physicians to provide direct patient care, perform consultations, collect and document data, assist in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and order and schedule laboratory studies. The primary hours will be Monday through Friday, with flexibility to meet the needs of patients. There may be opportunities for weekend hours and deployment to general OB-GYN sites to provide optimal patient access.
Responsibilities:- Collect patient histories, conduct physical examinations, and record data in patient records; write progress notes; prepare patient workups and summaries noting pertinent positive and negative findings; obtain psychosocial history relevant to patient care, and assume responsibility for developing therapeutic relationships with patients.
- Order, schedule, and review laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures; explain necessity, preparation, nature, and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to patients.
- PA: Must be licensed by the North Carolina Medical Board, and be Board Certified as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). BLS required.
- NP: Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina and Approval to Practice by the Board of Nursing. Must be Board Certified from a national certifying board in the appropriate patient foci. BLS required.
- Both: Master's Degree or higher required. Must demonstrate and maintain credentialing and licensing requirements of the Private Diagnostic Clinic and Duke Health. The position requires the candidate to have current DEA licensure.
