About the Job:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist to join our team at University Home Care in Detroit, Michigan.

As a Physical Therapist, you will work closely with patients and their families to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate personalized treatment programs to promote their independence and functional abilities.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in physical therapy and excellent communication skills. They will be able to work effectively with patients and their families, as well as collaborate with healthcare team members.

This is a full-time, hourly position with a competitive compensation package of $70-$80 per visit, paid bi-weekly. We offer a flexible work schedule, allowing you to work around your personal needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct initial and ongoing evaluations of patients to assess their physical needs and develop individualized treatment plans
  2. Administer therapeutic exercises and techniques, such as stretching, strengthening, and range of motion exercises, to promote improved mobility and function
  3. Utilize specialized equipment and modalities, such as ultrasound and electrical stimulation, to aid in patients' recovery and pain management
  4. Educate patients and their families on proper techniques for performing exercises and activities at home
  5. Monitor and document patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
  6. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate and integrate treatment goals and plans
  7. Adhere to all ethical and legal standards in patient care, documentation, and communication
Requirements:
  • Valid and current license to practice physical therapy in the state of Michigan
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited university
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a physical therapist
  • Proven ability to work independently, as well as collaborate effectively with healthcare team members
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to work with patients of varying mobility levels
