Job Overview:

We are in search of a talented and driven System-on-Chip (SoC) Performance Architect to enhance our dynamic team at Arm. Our focus lies in the performance evaluation of Arm CPUs and System IP, both in pre-silicon and post-silicon scenarios. Collaborating closely with design teams and clients, we aim to create top-tier silicon platforms across various sectors including client computing, infrastructure, IoT, and automotive.

The level of the position will be assessed during the interview process and may vary based on the candidate's experience.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Performance Analysis Engineer, your role will involve:

  • Driving and resolving architectural investigations and performance trade-off analyses across diverse SoC components such as CPU, IO, interconnects, and memory controllers.
  • Conducting workload characterization to pinpoint performance bottlenecks and suggesting effective solutions.
  • Collaborating and coordinating with architects and IP teams to achieve consensus.
Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Over 10 years of experience in SoC performance modeling and analysis within the semiconductor sector.
  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, with a specialization in computer architecture and microarchitecture.
  • Comprehensive understanding of general-purpose CPU microarchitecture, including processor pipelines, caches, and memory hierarchy.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ for large-scale software development, along with familiarity in SystemC TLM and Python scripting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex solutions effectively.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
  • Familiarity with interconnect micro-architecture design, including PCIe and CHI protocols.
  • Insight into workloads utilized for performance enhancement.
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and requirements.
  • Experience with Unix, scripting, and version control systems (e.g., Git, Subversion).
