This position significantly contributes to the creation of production-grade silicon that excels in performance and power efficiency, collaborating closely with Arm partners and developing Arm's own silicon solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

You will be part of a dedicated team responsible for defining and spearheading initiatives aimed at analyzing and optimizing the power consumption of our next-generation computing solutions through innovative technologies, methodologies, and tools.

  • Oversee a team focused on pre-silicon power analysis of SoC product functionalities, from initial estimations to final validation.
  • Proactively engage with Arm's SoC and IP product teams to synchronize power measurement and optimization efforts within the SoC design.
  • Collaborate with the Architecture team to develop power modeling and estimation for industry-leading SoCs.
  • Drive pre-silicon design power measurement activities throughout the SoC development lifecycle, from early modeling and RTL analysis to comprehensive timing-annotated netlist evaluations.
  • Work with the post-silicon characterization team to validate pre-silicon power estimates.
  • Establish relevant metrics, visualizations, and reports for effective power analysis.
  • Foster a culture of innovation within the team to enhance power analysis methodologies.
Required Skills and Experience:

We are looking for strong technical leadership capable of crafting precise project plans that involve multiple teams.

  • Proficiency in RTL and netlist-based power analysis workflows.
  • In-depth knowledge of ASIC design factors influencing power efficiency, including technology nodes, mixed Vt design, standard cell and memory library selection, and voltage/power domain partitioning.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects while mentoring junior engineers.
  • Solid understanding of software use cases and workloads and their impact on hardware design power.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of ASIC physical design processes and simulation/emulation workflows.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Experience with power analysis, power delivery, and signoff tools (e.g., PowerPro, PrimePower, Redhawk).
  • Familiarity with simulation/emulation tools (e.g., VCS, Questasim, Incisive, Veloce Strato, Palladium, Zebu).
  • Detailed understanding of low-power design techniques, including clock and power gating, voltage/frequency scaling, and memory/logic retention.
  • Proficiency in Python for automation and modeling tasks.
  • Experience in decomposing SoC use-case power budgets to IP power budgets.
  • Development of SoC benchmarks for power and performance evaluation.
  • Experience correlating pre-silicon and post-silicon power metrics.
  • Exceptional presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to convey technical content effectively.
