KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Accounts Receivable Operations Specialist is responsible for managing customer-facing duties associated with the analysis of cash flow, resolution of payment disputes, and collection of outstanding invoices. This role emphasizes strategic accounts characterized by high dollar value and volume, necessitating frequent engagement to address payment discrepancies and enhance compliance with terms.
Core Accountabilities:
- Achieve all baseline and project objectives related to cash flow, aging accounts, accuracy, and timeliness.
- Monitor and report on the status of customer accounts, ensuring alignment with defined KPIs and goals.
- Analyze complex issues and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to identify actionable and sustainable solutions.
- Utilize reports to support the analysis of essential account information.
- Engage in collaboration and negotiation with customers, sales teams, and finance departments to drive improvements.
- Meet individual and departmental performance metrics.
- Optimize overall accounts receivable processes, aiming to automate and minimize rework.
- Work alongside cross-functional teams in Billing Exceptions, Cash, and Credit to ensure efficient and accurate operations.
- Document detailed customer profiles, including payment behaviors and delivery confirmations.
- Support initiatives from customers or divisions as needed.
- Communicate and escalate issues or procedural changes to team leaders and management.
- Commit to continuous learning and proactive engagement with changes to develop new tools and strategic approaches.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college education preferred.
- Understanding of overall accounts receivable workflows and systems.
- Proficient in adjustments, research, collections, and maintaining customer relationships.
- Experienced in Microsoft Excel and familiar with other Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledgeable in DB2 queries, SAP, and XPTR reports for data analysis.
- Strong critical thinking skills for problem-solving and analysis.
- Effective collaboration, negotiation, and teamwork abilities.
- Professional demeanor with confidence in customer interactions.
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and analytical.
