Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff RF Payload Communications Engineer to join our team in Melbourne, FL. As a key member of our Aeronautics Systems sector, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and testing RF communications systems for airborne military applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and integrate airborne communications systems and components to enable real-time coordination and reliable communication between ground, air, space, and naval forces.
• Collaborate with engineers and program stakeholders to integrate Line of Sight (LOS) and Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) subsystems to meet platform mission objectives.
• Perform informal and formal testing of subsystem requirements.
• Develop and mature requirements, and trace requirements through various levels.
• Design, analyze, configure, test, document, and troubleshoot communications systems.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 14 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Master's degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and 12 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. and 9 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering.
• Active DoD Secret clearance that is in-scope (granted or renewed within the last 6 years).
• Ability to obtain Top Secret clearance.
• Experience with system modeling and requirements management tools (Cameo, DOORS, Rhapsody, etc.).
• Experience with RF antenna and component design and performance analysis.
• Knowledge of electromagnetics in the RF spectrum (VLF through Ku/Ka bands).
• Experience designing, configuring, installing, and operating LOS and BLOS communication systems in airborne military applications.
• Experience with voice, military, and network waveforms.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active Top Secret clearance.
• Experience with performance assessment through link margin and antenna pattern analyses.
• Ability to design, select, and characterize RF design to meet mission objectives.
• Experience with cryptographic implementations.
• Experience with cosite analysis.
• Experience with Electromagnetic Effects and Compatibility.
• Experience with obtaining/maintaining Aviation Communications certifications for airborne platforms.
• Experience with Earned Value Management.
• Experience with supplier/subcontract management.
• Experience with developing supplier documentation, performance-based specifications, and statements of work.
