Job Title: Staff Communications Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Communications Engineer to join our team at Northrop Grumman. As a key member of our Aeronautics Systems sector, you will play a critical role in defining the future of our cutting-edge technology.

Job Summary:

The Staff Communications Engineer will be responsible for the integration of airborne communications systems and components to enable real-time coordination and reliable communication between ground, air, space, and naval forces. This includes requirements development, analysis, maturation, and implementation, as well as design, analysis, configuration, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting of communications systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Integration of airborne communications systems and components
  • Requirements development, analysis, maturation, and implementation
  • Design, analysis, configuration, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting of communications systems
  • Collaboration with engineers and program stakeholders to integrate Line of Sight (LOS) and Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) subsystems
  • Technical management of program strategic partners and suppliers
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university
  • 14 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering, or a Master's degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and 12 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering, or a Ph.D. and 9 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering
  • Active DoD Secret clearance that is in-scope (granted or renewed within the last 6 years)
  • Ability to obtain Top Secret clearance
  • Knowledge of electromagnetics in the RF spectrum (HF through Ku/Ka bands)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active Top Secret clearance
  • Experience designing, configuring, installing, and operating LOS and BLOS communication systems in airborne military applications
  • Experience with voice, military, and network waveforms
  • Experience with performance assessment through link margin and antenna pattern analyses
  • Experience with RF antenna and component design and performance analysis
