About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director, Environmental Design and Sustainability to join our team at Ross & Baruzzini. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving technical and operational excellence in environmental design and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of sustainable approaches to district and urban scale developments, working closely with design teams to integrate sustainable strategies.
  • Develop and facilitate sustainability workshops and engagement events, identifying and prioritizing objectives and goals.
  • Lead the development of a compelling vision with clients and project teams to incorporate agreed objectives and goals.
  • Develop and document design and delivery guidelines for future development to deliver those objectives and goals.
  • Support the development of business streams around assessment certifications, including BREEAM, WELL, Fitwel, LEED, Living Building Challenge, and Passivhaus.
  • Provide thought leadership through speaking engagements, authoring publications, and blogs, and contribute to the management of Introba's internal annual R+D programme.
  • Support the whole life carbon and life cycle teams, and help develop decarbonisation and building performance workstreams.
  • Expand our strategic consultancy services, working as a key member of the Sustainability Team to develop, evolve, and expand the breadth of consultancy services provided.
  • Deliver training programmes for clients and colleagues in sustainability and the wider UK and international Introba Team.
  • Lead by example, mentor staff, and meet regularly with team members to ensure issues are identified and action plans are in place.
  • Achieve budget DLM, utilisation, and productivity factors for consultancy services, and ensure Introba's finance and project management system is updated with project plans on a regular basis.
Requirements
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng, PEng, PE or equivalent).
  • Proven leadership, mentoring, communication, and coaching skills.
  • Project management experience, particularly of major projects with demonstrated experience delivering quality results and exceeding client expectations.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and approach.
  • Strong commitment to innovation, creating new and better ways to solve clients' toughest challenges.
  • Active listener with superb interpersonal skills, collaborative in a diverse and inclusive team, working together toward technical excellence.
