We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Development Engineer to join our team at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. As a key member of our prototyping team, you will be responsible for developing software solutions for warfighter capabilities and leveraging innovation and technology to solve complex technical challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prototype solutions to unaddressed military operational shortfalls through research, conceptualization, design, implementation, and evaluation.
- Perform system design and software implementation of proof-of-concept prototypes incorporating multiple engineering fields.
- Support prototype evaluation, experimental operations at military facilities, and transitions of capabilities to government or industry.
Qualifications:
- BS in EE, CS, or related field.
- At least 7 years of experience in complex software development, particularly in database system design, signal processing, environmental sensing, or software defined radios.
- Significant knowledge of C++ or Java in a Linux/Unix environment.
- Highly creative and interested in novel challenges.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a close team environment.
- Ability to obtain a Top Secret level security clearance.
