Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Estimator to oversee and manage estimating activities for various construction projects. This role involves the preparation, interpretation, and presentation of detailed estimates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the overall planning and execution of estimating tasks for specific construction initiatives.
- Review proposal specifications and drawings, attend pre-estimate meetings, and analyze requests for proposals to define the scope of work and necessary contents of estimates.
- Provide both conceptual and final estimating insights on complex projects.
- Calculate labor and construction equipment costs accurately.
- Prepare precise quantity takeoffs and material pricing.
- Maintain all working documents and data effectively.
- Track awarded contracts as necessary, which may involve estimating and pricing additional work items, change orders, and procuring materials for major work items.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and at least 10 years of relevant experience in the industry.
- Field experience is advantageous.
Skills Required:
Ability to prepare intricate proposals with minimal oversight. A comprehensive understanding of estimating techniques, engineering disciplines, and subcontractor requirements is essential.
