We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Strategic Resources, Inc. as an Immunization Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the immunization program, providing education to patients and healthcare staff, and ensuring compliance with regulations and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and evaluate the immunization status and needs of patients, applying knowledge of current vaccine schedules and recommendations.
- Provide education to patients and healthcare staff on immunizations, including benefits, risks, side effects, and aftercare.
- Provide and document immunizations to patients as indicated, based on health history, health records, and interpretation of immunization schedules and recommendations.
- Consult and educate other healthcare professionals regarding vaccines, including providing orientation and in-service education presentations.
- Serve as liaison with local, county, and state health departments on vaccine-related issues, and manage the site's Vaccines for Children program.
- Provide direct care to patients within the scope of practice and perform functions in accordance with current accepted practice, licensure, certification, credentialing, and/or competencies.
- Current, full, and unrestricted licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state in which the duty station is located.
- Minimum two years of professional experience as a licensed Registered Nurse in a hospital, medical office, or residential setting.
- Experience in a detention/correctional healthcare setting is preferred but not required.
- Maintains BLS for Healthcare Providers certification through the American Heart Association.
- Certified Correctional Health Professional, Certified Correctional Health Professional - Registered Nurse, or Certified Corrections Nurse credential is preferred but not required.
The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods of standing, walking, or jogging unaided over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces. The work may require specific, but common, physical characteristics and abilities, such as agility and dexterity, visual, and hearing capabilities.
Security Requirements- The Department of Homeland Security's Personnel Security Unit (PSU) must render a Preliminary Favorable Fitness Determination to be considered a qualified candidate.
- A Complete Favorable Fitness Determination must be rendered by PSU upon completion of initial and subsequent background investigations to meet the requirements of this position.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident.
- Must have resided in the U.S. or its territories for three (3) or more years out of the last five (5) years.
