Strategic Resources Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in providing critical healthcare services to detainees in custody at the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Health Services Corps (IHSC) Medical Facilities.
About the Role:The Registered Nurse - Immunizations will be responsible for managing the immunization program, including interfacing with outside entities, ordering and storing vaccines, assessing vaccine records and schedules, providing immunizations to patients, and educating patients and healthcare staff on immunizations.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess and evaluate the immunization status and needs of patients, applying knowledge of current vaccine schedules and recommendations, immunization guidelines, patient health history, and available health records.
- Provide education to patients (and parents of minors) on immunizations, including benefits, risks, side effects, aftercare, and schedule for future vaccines.
- Provide and document immunizations to patients as indicated based on health history, health records, and interpretation of immunization schedules and recommendations.
- Consult and educate other healthcare professionals regarding vaccines, including providing orientation and in-service education presentations.
- Serve as liaison with local, county, and state health departments on vaccine-related issues.
- Manage the site's Vaccines for Children program, where applicable.
- Work with relevant parties to ensure vaccines are procured as needed and stored appropriately.
- Graduate from an associate, baccalaureate, or graduate nursing program for Registered Nurses located in a State, the District of Columbia, or a U.S. territory accredited by The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
- Minimum two years of professional experience as a licensed Registered Nurse in a hospital, medical office, or residential setting.
- Experience in a detention/correctional healthcare setting preferred, not required.
- Current, full, and unrestricted licensed as Registered Nurse in the state in which the duty station is located.
- Maintains BLS for Healthcare Providers certification through the American Heart Association.
- Certified Correctional Health Professional, Certified Correctional Health Professional Registered Nurse, or Certified Corrections Nurse credential preferred, not required.
The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods of standing; walking or jogging unaided over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; or recurring lifting of moderately heavy patients or equipment.
The work may require specific, but common, physical characteristics and abilities, such as agility and dexterity, visual, and hearing capabilities.
Must be able to respond to any medical emergency in the facility, via foot, within four minutes and perform CPR/emergency care standing or kneeling.
Must have the ability to assist sick, injured, or aging detainees or staff exiting the building during an emergency.
