Role Summary:

The Medical Assistant will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the assigned clinic. This position encompasses both administrative and clinical responsibilities, ensuring exceptional service delivery to our patients. The Medical Assistant will be trained in various functions, including patient communication, scheduling, billing support, and coding.

The individual will report to the Area Administrator and/or clinic office manager, receiving clinical guidance from the Nurse Practitioner and/or Physician. This role is essential in maintaining high levels of patient satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist patients with inquiries and facilitate access to additional services offered by the clinic.
  • Prepare examination rooms for patient consultations and assist in the use of diagnostic tools.
  • Measure and document patients' vital signs, preparing them for examinations and procedures.
  • Conduct routine patient testing, including electrocardiograms and specimen collection.
  • Manage electronic patient records and ensure accurate updates to health documentation.
  • Communicate test results to patients as directed by healthcare professionals.
  • Perform front office tasks, including:
    • Welcoming patients and determining their visit purpose.
    • Completing patient registration and data entry.
    • Facilitating patient check-in and check-out processes.
    • Coordinating patient appointments and managing scheduling.
    • Processing payment transactions and verifying insurance eligibility.
    • Assisting the billing department with claims processing.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficient in medical terminology.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Competent computer skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management capabilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of professionalism.

Education and Experience:

  • Active Medical Assistant Certification is mandatory.
  • Current BLS CPR Certification is required.
  • High School Diploma or GED is essential.
  • Preferred experience of 2+ years in a medical office, clinic, or physician practice.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift light to medium weights, up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to travel to various clinic locations as needed.
  • Capability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
  • Access to reliable transportation for commuting to clinic sites.

Position Details:

  • Employment Type: Full-Time, Hourly.
