Role Summary:

The Medical Assistant will play a vital role in the daily operations of the assigned clinic. This position involves providing administrative assistance while ensuring exceptional service to our patients. The Medical Assistant will be trained in various functions, including front and back office tasks, billing support, scheduling, coding, patient communication, and record management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to patient inquiries and assist them in accessing additional services offered by the clinic.
  • Prepare examination rooms for patient care and facilitate the use of diagnostic equipment.
  • Measure, collect, and document patients' vital signs while preparing them for examinations, tests, and procedures.
  • Conduct routine patient testing, including acquiring and processing electrocardiograms, blood specimens, and urine samples.
  • Manage electronic patient records efficiently.
  • Accurately update and maintain patients' health information.
  • Communicate test results to patients as directed by healthcare professionals.
  • Perform front office duties, including:
    • Welcoming patients and visitors as they arrive at the clinic and determining their purpose for visiting.
    • Collecting identification documents and completing the patient registration process, including data entry.
    • Managing patient check-in and check-out procedures.
    • Scheduling and coordinating patient appointments.
    • Processing payment transactions and collecting payments.
    • Verifying insurance eligibility and assisting the billing department with claims processing.
    • Occasionally completing pre-certification and authorization as necessary.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficient in medical terminology.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Proficient in computer applications.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • High level of professionalism and integrity.

Education and Experience:

  • Active Medical Assistant Certification is required.
  • Current BLS CPR Certification is required.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Experience in a medical office, clinic, or physician practice is preferred (2+ years).

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift light to medium weights, up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to travel to various clinic locations as needed.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer.
  • Ability to navigate different departments and clinic sites.
  • Access to reliable transportation for commuting to clinic locations.

Position Details:
