RN - Float Pool - Part Time, Nights

The Registered Nursing (RN) position at Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is a part-time, night shift role in the Central Float Pool. This position involves floating to units with additional need due to either acuity or staffing, primarily assigned to IMCU or Medical/Surgical units. The ideal candidate will have 2 years of acute care nursing experience and a background in hospital-based acute care. New Grad RN candidates with a background in hospital-based acute care may also be considered.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and admit patients, round checks, administer medications, and communicate with family members.
- Provide overall care to patients, working collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure the best possible outcomes.
- Participate in training and precepting on the ICU and ED for Registered Nurses who wish to move into these more critical care areas.
Requirements:
- RN License - Required
- BSN or MSN preferred
- Degree or Diploma from an accredited registered nursing program - required
- Students in the process of completing a registered nursing program with previous experience in acute care clinical roles may be considered
- 2 years of experience - Preferred
- Critical Care experience - Preferred
- BLS within 90 days of hire
- ACLS within 1 year of hire
