Position Overview: The entry-level Industrial Maintenance Technician is tasked with executing a wide range of responsibilities to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility machinery in alignment with safety, predictive, and productive maintenance protocols to support the achievement of the company's operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute a variety of tasks to install and sustain production machinery and the facility's equipment.
- Conduct emergency and unscheduled repairs of production machinery during operational hours, as well as perform routine maintenance during scheduled downtimes.
- Carry out basic machinist duties and responsibilities.
- Utilize mechanical skills, including but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production equipment.
- Interpret equipment manuals and work orders to carry out necessary maintenance and service tasks.
- Diagnose issues, replace or repair components, conduct tests, and make necessary adjustments.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and facility infrastructure.
- Employ a variety of hand and power tools, electrical meters, and material handling equipment in executing tasks.
- Comply with all safety regulations; identify and report unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Educational Qualifications:
- Preferred: Certificate in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance.
- High school diploma or GED, along with completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in production maintenance.
Skills and Competencies:
- Proficient in using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Able to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
- Competent in reading and performing basic mathematical calculations.
- Basic computer literacy is required.
Work Environment:
- Exposure to loud noises, dust, dirt, and fumes; working with moving mechanical parts and vibrations.
- The production area is not temperature-controlled throughout the year.
Physical Demands:
- Must be capable of lifting and/or moving a minimum of 75 pounds for most machinery.
- This role is highly active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the workday.
- Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Equipment Utilized:
- Various production machinery.
- Diverse hand and power tools.
