Job Summary:

A certified pharmacy technician plays a vital role in the daily operations of the pharmacy at St. Anthony Regional Hospital. This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and certification as a pharmacy technician within one year of hire. The successful candidate will assist pharmacists in processing and filling prescriptions, receiving and storing supplies, and maintaining accurate inventory levels. Additionally, they will perform automated dispensing machine pulls and fills, as well as assist with daily clean-up and maintenance of the department. This is a relief employment opportunity with no supervisory responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Process and fill prescriptions for pharmacist verification

Receive and store incoming supplies, verifying invoices against shipment and rectifying any discrepancies

Maintain accurate inventory levels and perform automated dispensing machine pulls and fills

Assist with daily clean-up and maintenance of the department

Provide general assistance to pharmacists

Maintain a safe work environment using safe work practices and standard precautions

Maintain the confidentiality of patient and organizational information

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent

Certified pharmacy technician exam passed within one year of hire

Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment

Work Environment:

The work environment is a fast-paced pharmacy setting with moderate noise levels. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in this environment and maintain a safe work space.
