Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Technician to join our team at Marriott International. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our buildings and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our guests and employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to and resolve guest repair requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning and lubrication of equipment, and visually inspecting tools and equipment.
  • Identify and operate shut-off valves for equipment and buildings, and maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with guests and colleagues to resolve maintenance issues and ensure seamless operations.
  • Display proficiency in air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and other systems, and perform basic repair and maintenance tasks.
  • Assist with surface preparation and painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, and light bulb and A/C filter replacement.
  • Use the Lockout/Tagout system before performing any maintenance work, and follow all company and safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent and vocational or technical background.
  • At least 2 years of hotel engineering/maintenance experience.
  • Valid Driver's License and Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to communicate effectively with guests and colleagues.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance, and heavier lifting or movement tasks with assistance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in general maintenance, exterior and interior surface preparation, and painting.
  • Supervisory experience is not required, but ability to train and mentor other engineers is a plus.
