Position Title: Purchasing Agent

Job Overview:

The Purchasing Agent plays a crucial role in managing procurement processes within the organization. This position involves receiving purchase requests from various departments, conducting thorough research, and processing orders efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and process purchase requests from management.
  • Input purchase orders into the accounting system accurately.
  • Communicate orders to vendors via email.
  • Review vendor invoices before processing for accounts payable.
  • Follow up on outstanding purchase orders to ensure timely delivery.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in orders.
  • Ensure that plant inventories are updated in the system by the weekly deadline.
  • Monitor and follow up on missing chemical inventories.
  • Analyze chemical inventory usage against weekly averages.
  • Address any chemical usage that falls outside acceptable limits.
  • Maintain effective communication with internal teams, including the Controller and CFO.
  • Engage with field operations personnel and external vendors as necessary.

Qualifications:

A high school diploma or GED is required. Candidates should possess the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook. Familiarity with financial systems, such as AX Dynamics, is preferred but not mandatory. Attention to detail and accuracy are essential, along with the capacity to adapt to new tasks as they arise.
