Position Summary

As an Automotive Repair Specialist, you will be responsible for performing skilled mechanical tasks in the upkeep and repair of a diverse fleet of vehicles, including cars, vans, and light-duty buses. This role requires adherence to established protocols to ensure the safety and operational reliability of our fleet.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Conduct thorough preventative maintenance inspections and vehicle assessments.
  2. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake repairs, tire rotations, and light replacements.
  3. Manage maintenance operations across multiple service locations.
  4. Proactively address maintenance needs to prevent issues before they arise.
  5. Execute field repairs as necessary.
  6. Participate in ongoing training and development programs.
  7. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including parts used and service dates.
  8. Conduct road tests to identify and rectify mechanical issues.
  9. Collaborate with procurement to ensure timely availability of necessary parts.
  10. Travel for training and inspections as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Expertise in automotive and light-duty bus maintenance and repair.
  • Proficiency in using and maintaining tools and equipment for repair tasks.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols in automotive repair.
  • Ability to diagnose mechanical problems effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective teamwork and communication.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks independently.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants should have at least one year of experience in automotive maintenance or relevant technical training, along with a high school diploma or equivalent. A valid driver's license is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in welding, fabrication, and diagnostic repair of engines and hydraulic systems is advantageous.

Physical Demands

This role involves frequent lifting of heavy components and tools, as well as exposure to various automotive chemicals and materials.
