Your Role
We are in search of a medicinal chemist to support our drug discovery initiatives as part of a collaborative team. Key responsibilities will include compound design, synthesis in our laboratories, coordination with contract research organizations (CROs), and providing broad support to our chemistry department. This role presents an exceptional opportunity to gain insights from seasoned medicinal chemists and drug discovery experts, employing structure-based drug design, contemporary hit-identification techniques (including virtual screening and DNA-encoded libraries), and advanced pharmacology to tackle GPCR targets.
Key Requirements
- In-depth knowledge of synthetic organic chemistry, including modern synthetic techniques and multi-step synthesis.
- Proven ability to independently design, implement, and troubleshoot synthetic pathways for drug-like compounds.
- Strong analytical skills to organize and interpret structure-activity relationship (SAR) data to inform design strategies.
- Capability to utilize computational modeling and SAR analysis tools to guide compound design.
- Excellent communication skills with a track record of delivering impactful presentations.
- A collaborative mindset, with a focus on team dynamics and support.
- Potential for leadership in managing external CRO chemistry personnel.
- Ph.D. in synthetic organic chemistry or medicinal chemistry, with or without postdoctoral experience (experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical sector and familiarity with structure-based drug design is advantageous); or a BS/MS with over 6 years of relevant industry experience.
The anticipated salary range for candidates is competitive and based on various factors, including job-related skills, experience, and education. Our comprehensive compensation package includes benefits, stock options, and an annual target bonus for full-time roles.
