Maintenance Mechanic Job Description

At Upstate Niagara Cooperative, Inc., we're committed to honoring the tireless effort and care that our farmer-owners put into their work every day. As a Maintenance Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipes, electrical and hydraulic systems.
  • Diagnose problems and repair machines, ensuring proper operation and safety.
  • Clean and lubricate machinery parts, and perform routine maintenance tasks.
  • Set up and operate machine tools, such as grinders, drills, and lathes.
  • Install and repair electrical wiring and electronic components on machinery and equipment.
  • Lay out, assemble, install, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
  • Repair and maintain the physical condition of the facility, including fabricating and repairing structures as needed.
  • Install, program, and repair automated machinery and equipment, including programmable controllers and refrigeration systems.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, safety rules, and operating instructions.
  • Ability to speak effectively and convey information to other employees.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment:

The work environment is dynamic, with regular exposure to moving mechanical equipment, high places, and wet and/or humid conditions. Hearing protection is required, and the noise level is usually moderate.

We offer a competitive hourly rate of $27.49-$30.49, as well as a comprehensive total rewards package, including group health and/or dental insurance, retirement plan, paid time away from work, and paid holidays.
