Team Overview

The New Verticals division comprises a dynamic group of Product Managers, Engineers, and Operators dedicated to enhancing our vision of connecting consumers with the finest offerings in their localities globally. This includes everything from unique dining options to reliable grocery providers and local retailers.

Role Overview

DoorDash is in search of a strategically-minded Engineering Manager to oversee the Consumer Affordability engineering unit. This team plays a crucial role in fostering category expansion by managing the pricing strategies across our Grocery, Convenience, Alcohol, and Retail sectors.

As an Engineering Manager, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional partners in Product and Business to establish the pricing framework for New Verticals and spearhead the execution of initiatives that align with our financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a team of over 8 skilled backend and client-side engineers, delivering comprehensive engineering solutions.
  • Shape product strategy while constructing scalable technical solutions. You find joy in analyzing data and deriving insights.
  • Work alongside Product, Operations, Design, Analytics, and other stakeholders to outline the team's roadmap and vision, ensuring effective execution.
  • Promote innovation, teamwork, and the adoption of advanced technologies while encouraging creative problem-solving.
  • Collaborate with the recruitment team to manage the hiring process, building a talented group of engineers.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years in a leadership role managing full-stack teams (backend, web, & mobile) with 8 or more engineers.
  • Experience in scaling products from inception to maturity in a fast-paced environment.
  • Hands-on leadership style with a strong sense of product intuition.
  • Demonstrated humility, with a willingness to dive into details and accept feedback.
  • A growth mindset, eager to enhance your skill set and navigate your career path in a rapidly evolving environment.

The base salary range for this position varies by location. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, relevant experience, and specific work location.
